bead cochet necklace

Today i decided to try to make a bead crochet neklace with dangles or drop beads. I pulled out some older beads and came up with a stringing pattern. The colors i used are green, white and lavender though it looks pink. I have made bead crochet bangles befor several times but this gave me chance at a larger project.

The stringing pattern i came up with is 23 then a drop bead on a 5 bead round. Keeping the drop bead on one side takes an even round like 6 round and putting a drop every 9 or multiple of 9. I was not worried about keeping the drops on one side i wanted it to be unique. The stringing pattern with the 3 colors go ♡ 23 green drop bead 5 green 13 white 5 pink drop bead 23 pink drop bead 5 pink 13 white 5 green drop bead ♡ then repeat. The drop beads spiral in a open pattern.

We will see as i work on this how it will turn out! I would like it to be long enough that i can just join without findings and be able to slip on off over the head.

New goals for 2017

For the year 2017 I plan on attending quite a few shows and hopefully get in a lot more blogging at least once a week. I have been doing a lot more jewelry in bead embroidery with the handmade resin or polymer clay cabachons.

These are made with the alcohol inks, glitter and transparent clay.
Being organized is not my strong suit. I have a hard time keeping track of my head.

Memory wire beads.

I came across some of my stuff that has been stashed for ages. I had a large handful of memory wire ring blanks from Big Lots that I was just sitting on so I decided to make some rings for future craft shows so I had some "low cost" items to sell. This will allow me to recover some of my cost of my beads and is a nice time waster when you are not in a mood to do certain things or have no idea what to work on! I woke up today to a very high cedar pollen count and could not stop blowing my nose. If I looked down my nose dripped so I had to take a strong allergy medication that makes me hyper or drowsy. I had about 15 packs of 12 count 20mm memory rings from the brand Create♡a♡Craft which i bought at .33 cents a pack!

I have a large selection of 11/0 seed beads, especially since i was allowed to make a decent order through Firemountain gems I now have a decent mix of bead types to play with.
The ring were pieces already cut at almost two rounds. I put a small loop at one end and gently flattened it so the beads would not pass past. I then strung on beads til about 1/4 to 1/8th of an inch from the end and looped the other end. Very simple very easy. Now I will have about 200 little beaded rings that I will sell for $1.00 each at my shows.

Busy tuesday

Working on some new necklaces today, I have been sitting on three polymer clay cabachons make with canes and decided today I will finish them. So I picked three colors.

These will be three different pendants for three different necklaces so now I just need to gather my bead selections and get started!

Addicted to Beading

Ok. So I started beading. I have been wanting to learn for a long time and I have many many different size seed beads with no idea what to do with them. I fired up youtube and started watching video after video and found a couple of channels that I really like and find useful. My first bead weaving project was tubular peyote. I did a cute bracelet with what ever thread I had and I found it very easy. I do not remember if it was even or odd peyote that was a couple of months ago and lately I have been doing flat even peyote. I found out my beads were very uneven and odd size. So I found a local bead store and bought some beads to play with. I then found artbeads.com.

I made a rather small order when there was a sale about four weeks ago and for just under $60  I got 13 tubes of TOHO beads of which one is size 8 with a free gift tube of size 8, and one size 15 and the rest are size 11. I LOVE TOHO. For a beginner beader these work up fast and nicely. My second order was two weeks ago and it was again on sale but a lot more of a sale so just over $62 got me 19 tubes of size 11 TOHO of their designer series. I think I have about all of the TOHO color choices at this moment.

I have started to create jewelry sets with them.

I had some silver button findings from who knows where so I am going to use them up then find some pretty buttons for others.
Earrings and necklace will be from flat peyote rolled and zipped up into a small tube pieces paired with some roundel 6mm  Swarvoski crystals. This grey flannel mix is really laid back I like the colors though on blue beading mat the lightest color bead tends to hide really really well.
Hopefully with the holidays coming up I will be placing these sets into my etsy shop.
